are my goods hazardous or dangerous?

Dangerous goods are any solid, liquid, or gas that can harm people, other living organisms, property, or the environment. Dangerous goods may be radioactive, flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, biohazardous, an oxidizer, an asphyxiant, a pathogen, an allergen, or may have other characteristics that render it hazardous in specific circumstances.

Laws and regulations on the transport of hazardous materials may differ depending on the activity and status of the material.

Dangerous goods are divided into classes on the basis of the specific chemical characteristics producing the risk. The list below is not exhaustive but contains the most common hazardous materials that may require transport by ADR certified couriers only.

- Explosives / Blasting Agents.
- Flammable / Non-Flammable Gases, Oxygen, Inhalation Hazards.
- Flammable / Combustible Liquids, Fuel Oil, Gasoline.
- Flammable Solids / Spontaneously Combustable Solids, Dangerous when wet.
- Oxidizing Agents, Organic Peroxide Oxidizing Agents.
- Poison, Biohazards
- Radioactive Materials
- Corrosive Materials
- Miscellaneous - Hazardous substances that do not fall into the other categories (asbestos, air-bag inflators, self inflating life rafts, dry ice).

If you are unsure as to whether the goods you are looking to transport fall into any of the above catagories, or you feel they may pose a risk to safety, we recommend you seek advise from a regulatory body.
