How will I be paid for the jobs I do?

When you contact a shipper to discuss the terms of a job, you should always discuss payment options. Agree a price, clarify if it is the shipper or receiver who will pay you and inform them of your accepted payment methods. We always encourage shippers to pay cash as we know it is not standard procedure for couriers to take card payments and we understand your unwillingness to accept a cheque from someone you don not really know. You will find shippers will be happy to pay cash, but remember you are responsible for declaring and paying all relevant taxes.

Do Avant-Garde Logistics Ltd keep a record of all jobs?

Yes, we keep a detailed database of all jobs performed via our website. In order to keep this information as accurate and up to date as possible, it is important that all jobs are confirmed through the website when sold.

How do I know the receiver will be available to take the goods when I arrive?

The shipper is responsible for making sure someone will be available to receive the goods. It is advisable to confirm this has been done when you make the collection. The shipper should always provide you with a contact phone number for the receiver so you can keep them informed of any delays etc.

Are the job process set in stone?

No, if you want to try and haggle over the price a shipper is willing to pay then that is up to you, but if they agree to pay more and say the receiver will pay you, make sure the receiver is aware of the change in price.

Why is it important to confirm the terms of a job through the website as soon as it is sold?

When you agree the terms of a job with a courier, you must mark the job as sold straight away and confirm the details including, delivery time and agreed price. The courier will receive this confirmation so that they can check the terms and question any discrepancies. If the job details are not confirmed before the job is undertaken then we cannot assist you should any problems arrive later. This is an integral part of the ukbackloads machine and is designed to protect both you and the shipper.

Why is the website very text based?

As the majority of users are on the road and using PDA’s or mobile devices to access the internet, they do not want to download large graphics or photos. We have tried to make the site as user friendly as possible on a variety of platforms.
